The LG LD920 3D TV extra dimensional flagship that caused a stir at CES has been axed from LG’s consumer line up, it’s been revealed. You’ll still be able to buy the LG LD920 3D TV when it ships, but it’ll help an awful lot if you’ve got a big business and budget to back you up. Read on for the full details.

The massive and ever so beautiful LG LD920 3D TV (formerly known as the LD360) was set to be the first LG 3D TV to go on sale to Joe Public in the UK, but it’s now been quietly dropped from the consumer line up, meaning you won’t be able to pick up the LG LD920 3D TV in shops.

LG 3D TV mainstream models promised for 2010

Now though, the 47-inch LG LD920 3D TV will only be available for commercial use, so if you were planning to pick one up, we hope you’ve got some business cards printed and the right connections.

Don’t smart too much over the loss of the LG LD920 3D TV however, as Samsung will be rubbing its hands in glee and giving us all some super slim 3D sets this year, with extra turbo powered, TV streaming remotes thrown in.

LG changed the name from the 360 to the 920 when they changed the tv to have a higher refresh rate. The TV is in pubs and clubs and was used to show live 3d football in the UK earlier this year. Like all passive-glasses solutions, the TV can’t do 1080p, so LG has active-glasses TV’s for the home market, the LG Infinia LX9900.

I’m a bit disappointed it’s not coming to homes though. I love LG’s current range, not having a 3D model for the home kinda seems weak.
