iPad delay rumours went ricocheting around the web a couple of days back. Apple denied them and now whispers from component suppliers suggest that iPad production is still on track. Do we have just 22 days to wait for the iPad to arrive?
Rumours claimed iPad delays stemmed from problems at major Apple supplier Foxconn Electronics. However, Far Eastern tech gossip powerhouse Digitimes reckons its heard good news from the manufacturers suppliers.
Sources at Foxconn’s components suppliers told Digitimes that supplies are on schedule and revealed that Foxconn will ship between 600,000 and 700,000 iPads in March with another 1m units following in April.
While that’s clearly just speculation it does have the ring of truth. The latest rumoured iPad launch date is March 26 and Apple has always said it will arrive this month. The next batch of devices due in April could include 3G-enabled models.
