Bing will catch up with and beat Google in the search battle one day. At least that’s the dream Microsoft boss Steve Ballmer has been sharing with the world. And while he was at it, he shared his thoughts on Twitter and Google’s battle with the EU.

Hit with the tricky question of whether Bing can compete with Google’s search dominance, Steve Ballmer looked to the future saying: “There’s no good answer to this question. If you say yes, you seem like you’re arrogant and if you say no it looks like you have no faith. So the answer is yes, someday.”

Ballmer admitted that Google is top of the search game because “they did it right first”. Interviewed at the thrillingly titled Search Engine Marketing Expo, he also revealed that he has a secret Twitter account where he tweets his son’s school basketball results.

Ballmer also admitted that Microsoft has expressed its frustrations about Google to the European Commission which is currently investigating the search giant: “We’re not silent, we’re expressing some of the issues and frustrations we see.”

Asked whether Microsoft would try and snap up Twitter, Ballmer said it was “not clear” that it would be beneficial and suggested that the microblogging service might be better of independent.

The problem is Microsoft is that they think they own this world and this is the first time they are in competition through out their life span, their reasoning is strange like a baby crying. Their products like bing, windows mobile are childish. They have tried their best to push bing through corporations. Google is in a real position to compete. Google has the same tricks are microsoft, so very nice to see all this. Google hs always been a choice of people. lets see what goes next

Nice one Steve … this is the same moron who sad nobody would buy the iPhone because it was too expensive! 30m units later ….
Sorry Microsoft, Bing/Bong/call it what you will is too far behind to catch up … and why use Bing when Google works just fine?

I agree Garth, although there’s no denying choice is a good thing – we need someone to keep Google on its toes.
