Windows Phone 7 Series has made its first public appearance on a branded device with an LG Windows Phone 7 Series prototype breaking cover. Read on to find out what the little LG smasher looks like…

We discovered last week that Windows Phone 7 Series handsets would come in at least three flavours of hardware and one of those new designs has been revealed.

Microsoft’s Aaron Woodman bought a QWERTY-keyboard-packing LG Windows Phone 7 Series pre-production prototype with him for an appearance on The Engadget Show.

Engadget reports that the LG Windows Phone 7 Series prototype is slightly thicker than an iPhone or Google Nexus One and has dedicated hardware camera, volume and power buttons. There’s also the dedicated back, home and search Windows Phone 7 Series buttons.

The LG Windows Phone 7 Series prototype also packs in a 5MP camera with a flash and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Another interesting tidbit that came out of Woodman’s interview was the fact that Microsoft is toying with the idea of bringing Windows Phone 7 Series to Mac OS.

Do you think Windows Phone 7 Series will be able to go head-to-head with the iPhone and Google Nexus One? Make sure you take a look at our Windows Phone 7 Series hands-on.
