The LG Maxx has just surfaced in officialdom over in South Korea, and it’s shaping up to be one worthy successor to the Arena feature phone. As well as mobile TV and HD video playback, it packs the super-speedy Snapdragon processor, ready to blitz through your flicks on the go. We’re not sure what we make of that bezel though.

We spotted the LG Maxx in a surprisingly non-shaky spyshot a few weeks ago, but the feature phone was nowhere to be seen at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month. Now though the LG Maxx has hit the wires in LG’s homeland, as the company makes its latest feature phone fully official.

The LG Maxx packs a sharp 3.5-inch WVGA screen, a five megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and GPS, along with Qualcomm’s snappy chip, and a new bezel-heavy look.

LG Arena Maxx: Snapdragon feature phone spotted!

Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on whether the LG Maxx will come to the UK. The South Korean mobile TV tuner suggests not, but it wouldn’t be like LG to drop a sequel to the Arena in one nation only. We’ve got a call in with LG UK, so we’ll update if we get any confirmation.
