There have been roundabout methods to get BBC iPlayer videos running on a BlackBerry before, but we won’t say no to the simplicity of using the official site. Hit up the shortcut and you’re taken to a BlackBerry friendly BBC iPlayer page, where you can dip into all the latest TV and radio.

You’ll need to be on Wi-Fi to use BBC iPlayer for BlackBerry, but it buffers video very quickly. We’re a bit disappointed by the fuzzy picture quality, especially since the BlackBerry Bold 9700 has a screen resolution sharper than that of the iPhone, but it’s better than nothing right?

Curiously, the Beeb says that BBC iPlayer for BlackBerry will only work with BlackBerrys running OS 4.2 to 4.7, but it runs fine on OS 5.0, so if you’re got a Storm 2 you should be covered too.
