The Asus Eee PC 1018P netbook has leaked out ahead of computer expo CeBIT next month, and it’s one slick little laptop. As well as being a slinky, svelte 18mm thick, it’s made of aluminium too, MacBook Pro style! Can the Eee 1018P best Cupertino’s finest? Read on, and we’ll give you all the details after the jump.

French site Blogee, which has a track record of Asus scoops, has the lowdown on the Eee PC 1018P netbook, which it says is even thinner than the existing Asus 1008P, with an aluminium hull. Despite that, the Eee PC 1018P has still got a battery good for ten hours on the trot, and USB 3.0 for super-fast file transfer.

Alongside the Eee PC 1018P, we’re told that an Asus Eee PC 1015P is also coming, to confuse model numbering even more. This one is a refresh of the still brand new 1005P model, with an aluminium case, and a (presumably removable) 14 hour battery.

We can’t wait to see the Eee PC 1018P come clad in aluminium, since Asus’s taste for fingerprint-friendly plastic has long been our main grudge with the aesthetics of its Eee PC line. Stay tuned and expect more details on the pair next week at CeBIT.
