There’s just a month to go until the Apple iPad is let loose on Joe Public, but Apple UK is still being cagey about how much the slate will cost here in Blighty. Leave it to someone else to answer the question for us then, as the price has just leaked out anyway. Want to know what Apple’s “unbelievable price” is in the UK? Read on…
Website Geeky Gadgets claims to have the scoop on a UK price for the Apple iPad. While we can’t verify this, it claims that the bottom end Apple iPad model, with 16GB of storage and Wi-Fi only, will cost £389, while the 32GB model will sell for £439 and the 64GB version will sell for £489.
Apple iPad: all the official photos!
While the base price for the Apple iPad sounds right to us (It will cost around £310 in the US before tax), coming in as it does below some premium netbooks, we’re slightly skeptical of the £50 increments for extra storage. If the iPod touch is anything to go by, Apple will happily charge between £72 and £82 for a boost of 24 or 32GB in solid state storage, suggesting that the Apple iPad 64GB version might cost substantially more than £489.
At the time of writing, the Apple iPad is still price TBC on Apple’s UK website, but we’ll let you know if and when that changes.
