The Acer Aspire One 532G netbook slipped out quietly at Mobile World Congress last week, in amongst all the Android phones and 4G fanfare. But we’ve just caught up with the little lappy here in the UK. It’s one of the first to pack NVIDIA’s next-gen Ion graphics along with Optimus tech to save battery life, and we’ve got all the photos of it flying through HD YouTube videos right here.
At first glance, the Acer Aspire One 532G is any run of the mill laptop: a 10.1-inch screen, Wi-Fi and a 10 hour battery don’t jump out from the spec list, and the design is nothing to rave about either.
But the Acer Aspire One 532G also packs NVIDIA’s next gen Ion graphics, a step up on the previous Ion, which helped machines like the Asus Eee PC 1201N and Acer Aspire Revo rumble through HD video on the cheap. We’ve not been able to properly benchmark the Acer Aspire One 532G, but from our brief test checking out a high def YouTube video, it works a treat, with no stutter to be seen.

The Acer Aspire One 532G Ion 2 netbook is out later this Spring, so if you’re about to slap down for a new nano machine, you might want to hold off a few weeks for a bit more power - we’re told by Acer that pricing should be around 399 to 429 UKaydian pounds. In the meantime, check the Acer Aspire One 532G up close here in our photo gallery.
