Elgato only announced the EyeTV Netstream DTT tuner this morning, but we’ve already grabbed hold of one, and wrenched it free from its packaging. Want to see what’s inside this revolutionary new telly box’s packaging? Read on, and see all our photos!
The EyeTV Netstream is a TV tuner unlike any other. Instead of plugging it into your PC or Mac, you hook it up to your home network. Once it’s installed, any computer on the network can lap up live broadcasts, and even record one show while watching another. No cables, no fuss, and it means you can position the Elgato Netstream right next to the aerial socket for perfect Freeview signals.
The EyeTV Netstream will sling TV shows around the house using Ethernet or, if you hook it up to a wireless router, through Wi-Fi too. Elgato recommends an N-standard wireless network for the best results. We’ll be taking the EyeTV Netstream for a spin shortly. Stay tuned for a full review once we’ve got to grips with its unique abilities and until then, feast your peepers on our gallery above.
