MSI has rolled up at Electricpig’s doorstep today and dropped off all the deets on its spanking new all-in-one 3D PC. Which got us thinking: if we’re to stay ahead of the curve on 3D gizmology, there’re a fair few must-have items. We’ve assmbled a 3D dream team to keep you well ahead of the pack as three dimensions take over in 2010.
Well, we’ve pulled together a hot list of the slickest 3D gadgets you can get right now, or that are just around the corner. Get stuck in now and see if you agree with our 3D must-haves.
MSI 3D all-in-one PC
MSI says its all new machine is “the world’s first large size 3D all-in-one PC.” Set aside the somewhat specious hyperbole though and you’re looking at a machine that packs in a top notch 3D, 120Hz, LED panel, a multi-core CPU and the rather non-specific sounding “new 3D graphics technology.” The full details will be outed at next month’s CeBIT tech hoedown in Hanover. But expect this to be the first of many 3D all-in-ones to land in 2010.
Samsung 3D LED HDTV
Sammy confirmed yesterday that it was bringing its awesome line of 3D LED HDTVs to the UK next month. The LED 8 series and LED 7 series rock tech which lets you turn regular old 2D shows into three dimensional stunners at the press of a button. And having gawped at them at CES, we can confirm that they’re as good as any 3D TV we’ve given a whirl. Chuck in BBC iPlayer and LOVEFiLM support and Samsung 3D LED HDTVs are looking like the 3DTVs of choice.
NVIDIA 3D Vision
These clever specs turn plain old 2D pics on your PC’s monitor into cracking 3D visuals. That means playing games using them is absolutely breathtaking, giving you depth perception while you stalk the screen playing first person shooters. NVIDIA has also promised support for Google Earth, Bing Maps and Flickr. If you don’t fancy getting a full 3D setup but still want everything to look like a James Cameron yawn fest, then these bad boys are where it’s at.
Acer AS5738 3D laptop
Rocking a 15.6-inch, 16:9 panel, the Acer AS5738 3D comes with two pairs of 3D specs in the box. Don them and you can immerse yourself in 3D gaming and video on-the-move and use the Tri-Def software on board to open photos and peep them in three dimensions too. If you want next-gen games that look more realistic than life itself, then it’s well worth taking a look at the Acer AS5738 3D laptop.
Sky 3D
More of a service than a gadget but the impending arrival of Sky 3D means you’ll be able to tuck into the latest footie matches, best movies and newest US TV imports in 3D. Word is it’ll be up and running before the summer starts, so you’ll be able to see next season’s Premier League and perhaps Avatar in three dimensions from the comfort of your home. Best of all, it works with the newest Sky+HD boxes, which also pack in an eye-tingling 1TB of storage for HD shows. You just need to find a few extra quid for a 3D TV.
