The LG X200 is LG’s latest foray into faster netbook tech, packing as it does Intel’s new Pine Trail platform. But never mind that, it’s also the best looking ultra portable we’ve ever clapped eyes on, squeezing in the curves and colour of the Lenovo Skylight with the MacBook-esque polish of a Nokia Booklet 3G.
The specs on the 10.1-inch LG X200 aren’t exactly groundbreaking. The 1.66GHz Atom processor offers a slight speed bump and power saver on the previous generation, a 250GB hard drive is standard, and 1GB of RAM and Intel integrated GMA 3150 graphics won’t give you HD video like Asus’s Eee PC 1201N.
LG X130 netbook: 12 hours of battery life
But in age where even Asus’ best netbook efforts still attract fingerprints like moths to a flame, we’re loving the look of the LG X200, along with the chiclet keyboard design and even the bright paint jobs. Think of it as a Lenovo Skylight smart-book running Windows 7 – if only we could get a Chrome OS version with FLO TV on it.
The LG X200 is out in South Korea for around £420, but since it’s been approved for sale by the US wireless regulatory body, the FCC, we’d expect it to go on sale in the West soon.
