Steve Jobs has nabbed a lot of awards in the past but he’s set to pick up his first one from a Muppet maker. The Apple boss has been awarded a Jim Henson Celebration Honor and he’s in good company — Nintendo boss Shigeru Miyamoto and Harry Potter creator, J.K Rowling have previously picked up the award.
The Jim Henson Celebration Honor is nominated by Jim Henson Company staff and artists and “acknowledges individuals who reflect the core values and philosophy of the legendary Jim Henson and the company he founded.”
Jim Henson’s eldest child, Lisa Henson, the Jim Henson Company’s current CEO, says: “Steve Jobs has continuously broken new ground with technologies that allow existing media in all forms to be easily enjoyed and also by providing fantastic artists, photographers, musicians and filmmakers of all skill levels.”
It seems the gang at the Jim Henson Company want to show their appreciation for iLife, Garage Band and Apple’s latest creation, the Apple iPad. But the big question is: will Steve Jobs get a Sesame Street guest spot and if he does, can we expect he to wear his top hat?
