Windows Phone 7 Series arrived with no mention of a Project Pink official Microsoft mobile, but now the rumours are back with a vengeance. A new report says it’s on the way, with Asus making the hardware, just as HTC did for the Google branded Nexus One.
According to analyst Ashok Kumar,Microsoft is making a touchscreen candybar phone running the new Windows Phone 7 Series with Asus. Production has reportedly halted for the moment, but the Project Pink phone is still on track for 2011.
Windows Phone 7 Series: hands-on!
It’s not known what specs the Asus made Microsoft Project Pink phone might pack, but we do know that all Windows Phone 7 Series mobiles must have a high resolution, WVGA capacitive touchscreen, so you can expect it to look the part, especially if Redmond opts to echo the look of the beautiful Zune HD media player.
If true, we won’t be seeing the official Microsoft phone until after the launch of the first Windows Phone 7 Series blowers towards the end of this year, but it’s good to know it could still be on the radar, now that Microsoft has finally seen the light with its polished new look OS.
