Toshiba has developed a pair of headphones that can read your mind and it plans to bring them to consumers. Do you want to know what music or gaming is doing to your brain?

Toshiba has demonstrated new headphones which have a built-in brain-wave sensor. It expects the device to be used in healthcare as a “device to visualise brain waves” but the headphones may also be made available to consumers.

The Toshiba brain wave scanning headphones have built-in Bluetooth to allow them to connect to a PC with a Bluetooth dongle. Specialised software then allows brain waves to be monitored.

Toshiba’s software shows the headphone users brain waves in real time and can record them. It also makes it possible to play a game using brain waves.

Though Toshiba says development of the brain wave scanning headphones is almost finished but it does not know when the headphones will be commercially available.

In the meantime, take a look at the Star Wars Force Trainer for a bit of brain powered gaming and check out our latest headphone reviews with our Shure SE115M review and Bose In Ear headphones review.
