All the big press shindigs may be over, but day three at Mobile World Congress heralded some truly awesome news, not to mention the chance for us to lay our grubby mitts on even more new blowers for your viewing pleasure. If you’ve been out of the loop this week, jump in now and we’ll sate your appetite with everything that went down at MWC yesterday.

All the big guns might have made their announcements, but you don’t just want to see press snaps, do you? We made a beeline for Microsoft’s stand where we had a play with the beyond incredible Windows Phone 7 Series in a rather sharp prototype. It’s no exaggeration to say it puts the Big M right back in the mobile game and will cause untold trouble and Google and Apple HQs. And as if that wasn’t enough, we also broke out our cammie to bring you some hands-on video too.

Elsewhere we were treated (if that’s what you can call it), to the utterly bonkers Texas Instruments OMAP4 Blaze. It’s a QWERTY-packing dual screen machine, projector packing, TV playing monster, but it’s a proto, aimed at showing off TI’s new system-on-a-chip OMAP4 which was unlashed earlier this week. That said, we still spent plenty of time gawping at this beast of a phone.

Back in the more realistic confines of the Motorola booth, we had a play with the sleek new Motoroi. It’s essentially the excellent Motorola Milestone shorn of that rather awkward QWERTY keypad, with a huge 3.7-inch screen with HDMI out and 720- HD Ready video recording. We’re just hoping it makes its way to the UK very soon, after it was released in South Korea last month.

But the was real joy for us Brits was the BBC showing off its all new official BBC News iPhone app and BBC Sports Results app. While Apple stayed away from Barcelona, the Beeb was keen to talk up these new add-ons, which it says will also be coming to other big time mobile OSs in the not too distant future.

We’re bringing you the last bits of hot news from Barcelona today, so stay tuned for any final juicy morsels and, of course, full reviews of all the hottest new handsets.
