Capcom is bringing Street Fighter IV to the iPhone this March with adjusted controls to suit the handheld’s touchscreen interface. But will the button bashing beat-em up translate to the smaller screen?

Street Fighter IV iPhone is due in March and will replace your beloved gaming pad with a  onscreen one – buttons on one side of the phone, a virtual arcade stick on the other. The controls will also be adjustable.

Capcom is also trying to bring the same uber-colourful art style to the iPhone version of Street Fighter IV using assets taken directly from the full-scale Street Fighter IV code.

While only Ryu and Ken have been announced so far, Capcom is promising a large roster of characters for the Street Fighter IV iPhone version with both new and familiar faces.

Streetfighter IV iPhone will also have a multi-player mode to let you unleash fists of fury via Bluetooth.

While you wait for Streetfighter IV iPhone to arrive, take a look at our Street Fighter IV new stages gallery and play Street Fighter II in your browser.

I can see it already…the quarters lining up on my office desk, close the doors, take a number…time to start up the office competition. Gives me something else to do on those long conference calls. =)

This is actually my concern as well, how can Capcom translate those complicated controls of Street Fighter on iPhone? I guess let’s just have to wait and see. But as for me, I’m not sure if Capcom made the cut on this venture.
