Star Trek Online lets you explore lots of different worlds, tussle with Klingons, battle the Borg and listen to Leonard Nimoy but doesn’t let you into your own ship. But developer Cryptic says that is set to change…
A lot of Star Trek stories feature the travails of the ship’s crew but in Star Trek Online you can currently only see them when they’re down on planets. But in the future, Star Trek Online will be bringing you to the holodeck and Scotty’s engineering department where he “just canae take it”.
Craig Zinkievich of Star Trek Online developers Cryptic says: “We want to give people more of their ship. This is one of those things we want to get perfect before introducing it to players though.”
So while Cryptic is working on getting us wandering around inside our ships in Star Trek Online, it may be sometime before we’re wandering the corridors and striding through the whooshing doors. Perhaps it’ll be in time for the Star Trek Online console version.
