Puma-Phone-1

The Puma Phone has been teased more times than a ginger schoolchild, but now we’ve got full photos, and full details. Read on, and see if this sporty blower can change the face of fashion phones for ever.

The Puma Phone looks great, there’s no denying that, and the solar panel on its rear means it’ll juice up using only the orange sphere hanging above your head. But the clever stuff doesn’t stop there.

The Puma Phone has a 2.8 inch screen, which Puma says is “thumbable” – meaning you can use it with one hand. Sports features include a built-in pedometer, GPS tracker and stopwatch, letting you track your runs and rides, timing them and keeping track of routes.

Inside the phone is a 3.2 megapixel camera and Bluetooth sharing abilities, GPS with compass and geotagging abilities, as well as a 3D accelerometer. The Puma Phone can show a 3D orientation sensor on screen – like the gyroscope on your phone.

There’s an FM radio inside too, and because the Puma Phone is a connected device, pulling in live sports feeds from the Puma World portal and mCommerce. We’ve heard the Puma Phone will eventually let you tap into Puma.com’s online store, ordering sports kit on the go – even customising trainers on the phone before ordering them for delivery.

Obviously, since the Puma Phone has a solar charger on its back, it can be juiced on the move. But Puma says a single charge will give 5 hours of talktime, with 350 hours stand-by time; video call time is a healthy 140 minutes; music player time is 24 hours, and video player time is 5 hours.
