The Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50 Android phone specialising in satnav skills is on show here at Mobile World Congress, so needless to say, we stopped to hang out with it for a bit. See the photos and hands-on video here!
The Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50, announced last week, is the company’s first venture into Android for its specialist smartphones, and from our brief play, we came away impressed. Although the Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50′s software was on occasion laggy, we really like the PND style home screen, with simple big buttons to fire up the Garmin mapping – which looks gorgeous on the Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50′s 3.5-inch screen. We also loved being able to get to Google Street View straight from the custom point of interest search feature.
Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50 goes Android
Of course the Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50′s main selling point over here could be made redundant if the free Maps Navigation arrives in the UK, but in the meantime check it out in photos and video here – if you’re at work be sure to turn the sound down if your colleagues don’t share Garmin-Asus’ fondness for Duran Duran.
