Huawei knows an opportunity when it sees one. Everyone loves footie right? And the World Cup is coming up fast, so it obviously makes sense to churn out a 3G mobile broadband dongle shaped like a football. Right? Er, right.
While we struggled to even see Huawei’s latest Android phone at its Mobile World Congress stand here in Barcelona, the company we happy for us to take its 3G mobile broadband E2010 dongle for a kickabout. Make no mistake, this is as absurd a tie in as the Michael Jackson external hard drive, but we love it all the same.
The Huawei football dongle will work with Windows 7, Mac and Linux and packs a microSD slot inside, so it’s as well equipped as any other mobile broadband stick. It’s just that without its player stand, it’s likely to roll away from you when left on a table.
Huawei U880 next-gen Android phone unveiled…in a dirty box
We’re told the Huawei 3G football dongle will be out in time for the World Cup, and with UK 3G spectrum support inside, any die hard fan would be foolish to miss out on one of these. You could even take it to South Africa – we hear roaming charges are very affordable these days…
