The Samsung i8520 wasn’t on show at Samsung’s Wave launch just now, and nor was it out on display afterwards. But lo if it’s not sitting here, complete with specs and photos, in a memory stick the company handed out at its press conference. The Samsung I8520 – whose “I” prefix means it runs Android – packs a 3.7-inch AMOLED WVGA screen, and like the Wave, it’s a Super AMOLED affair. 3G is on board, as is a-GPS and n-standard Wi-Fi, but the big news is the eight megapixel camera capable of HD video recording. There aren’t any Android phones with a camera that powerful on the market yet (The Xperia X10 still isn’t out) so this could be one high end Google phone for shutterbugs when it arrives.
