Spotify Remoteless doesn’t quite do what the name says on the tin, since it turns your iPhone into a remote control for Spotify on your PC, but if you’re a fan of the free music streaming service on your comp, you’ll want to check it out nonetheless. It’s just gone live on the App Store, and we’ve got the video right here.
Head on over to the iPhone App Store and you’ll find Spotify Remoteless, a third party app that lets you control your Windows PC (You need to install a small program on it, so there’s no OS X version yet but the developer says a Mac port is coming) Spotify client from afar over Wi-Fi. With Spotify Remoteless, you can search, control the music playback and volume, tweet the song you’re playing, and even fire up the program from the sofa.

Spotify Remoteless isn’t official however, and doesn’t have access to a lot of the underlying tech that power Spotify, so for now at least, it’s not especially eye pleasing. You get text only, so there’s no cover art, and you can’t queue up songs. But it’s an interesting feature that the official Spotify iPhone app sorely lacks, and at the very least it should alert Spotify as to how it should up its game.
Spotify Remoteless is out on the iPhone App Store now for iPhone and iPod touch.
