Apple’s getting set to reduce the price of TV shows on iTunes in time for the launch of the Apple iPad, according to whispers wending their way to familiar Apple rumour conduits.

Both the Wall Street Journal (known to be Apple’s go-to-guys for controlled leaks) and the Financial Times report that Apple is looking to reduce the price of iTunes TV shows in time for the iPad.

The reports suggest that Apple will reduce the price of individual TV shows on the US iTunes Store to 99¢ an episode. It’s likely that the UK store would be due to get a similar price drop.

Apple’s rumoured plans for iPad TV subscriptions have allegedly hit the skids according to the report in the Wall Street Journal.

The Apple iPad’s 9.7in 1024 x 768 screen clearly suits watching TV shows, so it makes sense for Apple to push for more appealing pricing.
