The Toshiba Satellite U500-1EX multitouch, ultraportable laptop just got made official, letting you prod around Windows 7 on the move, and without much of a premium either. Read on for the details.
At just 2.15kg, the Toshiba Satellite U500-1EX is a surprisingly light 13.3 inch laptop, with plenty of power inside the bonnet, including 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 320GB hard drive and an Intel Core i3-330 chip, as well as HDMI for playing nice with your HDTV.
It’s the multitouch skills that are the Toshiba Satellite U500-1EX’s main selling point however, and like all the all-in-one’s taking advantage of Windows 7′s touchscreen features, you can flick around on the web and pause and play videos with your fingers. The Toshiba Satellite U500-1EX also comes with Microsoft’s Touch Pack preloaded, so you can whiz around on Microsoft Surface Glove, as well as Toshiba’s own LifeSpace skin over the top, with finger friendly shortcuts.
The Toshiba Satellite U500-1EX shipping date is still TBC, but with a surprisingly low pricetag of £649, we’re prepared to wait a bit. Stay tuned for a hands-on shortly.
