The Toshiba BDX2100KB Blu-ray player marks the Japanese giant’s second slice of humble pie after losing out in the HD format war. The follow up to the BDX2000 spinner, it’s even cheaper, but still packs some respectable specs.
The Toshiba BDX2100KB is a BD Live compatible Blu-ray player (Still no Wi-Fi, we might add) capable of outputting video in the full HD at 24 frames per second, and it’ll upscale DVDs to the full 1080p too.
On the audio front, the Toshiba BDX2100KB supports Dolby True HD and DTS Master Audio codecs and 7.1 sound, but our favourite feature is the USB port, which will let you play both DivX and the increasingly popular MKV format off a memory stick.

We weren’t too impressed by Toshiba’s first Blu-ray effort, but the pricetag on the Toshiba BDX2100KB should make us forgive all: it’ll cost just £129.99 when it goes on sale in May. Check out the photos of the Toshiba BDX2100KB in the meantime, and we’ll be back with hands-on shots before you know it.
