Google BuzzGoogle Buzz has already created plenty of consternation amongst the Big G’s angriest rivals. But while the jury’s still out on just how it’ll sit alongside Facebook and Twitter on your PC, one thing is certain: Google Buzz is set to be the most powerful mobile social network out there. Read on to find out why.

It’s not just for Android phones
Having a blower rocking Google Android definitely makes Google Buzz even better. But you don’t need to pack the open source OS. The web app is already up for grabs on the iPhone and is coming to Windows Mobile, BlackBerry and Symbian S60. All you need to do is tap in buzz.google.com to get started.

It uses location intuitively
Location-based services have been the next big thing for years. But Google Buzz’s effort is arguably the best attempt yet. You can tag your location from your phone when you Buzz, either loading up the suggested location or letting you refine your position to tell pals just where you’re at.

It uses Google Maps effortlessly
Google isn’t shy about integrating its services and Google Buzz naturally plays nice with Google Maps. The Buzz layer lets you see other people Buzzing around you, and not just your close pals, whether it’s about traffic details or a cool place to get coffee. Tap on the Place Page on the map and you’ll get deets on a location too, including restaurant reviews, menus and cinema times.

The Nearby function tells you just what’s going down
If you don’t want to dive into the Buzz layer, you can tap the Nearby button to get Buzz info from your pals about what’s happening close by. You can even dive into related posts about the same place and see what everyone’s saying about a particular event.

You don’t need to write a thing
If you’ve got an Android blower, you can speak into it to Buzz your mates, rather than tap out text. All you have to do is say ‘Post Buzz’ followed by your musings and it’ll take care of business. Niche, for sure, but a smart move nonetheless.
