The Sims 3, already more popular than sliced bread, water and air on PC and iPhone, is headed to a mystery console this year, according to EA. Will it be too early for motion controls?
Nestled away in EA’s latest financial results statement is the little nugget “The Sims 3 on Console Title” listed for a release in Q3 this year. That points to The Sims 3 landing on a console in late Summer, though which platform is still a mystery.
The Sims 3: World Adventures Review
EA doesn’t say anything more, other than The Sims 3 is planned for both handheld and console, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the new platforms turned out to be Nintendo’s wildly popular Wii and DS. The game could of course be destined for PS3 or Xbox 360, but that release window would appear to rule out any hope of motion control via Project Natal or the PS3′s nameless wand.
It’s actually surprising we haven’t seen the lord-it-over-little-people simulator on a console before, but expect more news on the new home for The Sims 3 soon.
