A game that lets Android and iPhone owners play head to head? Better believe it: this here video shows the two rival smartphone platforms working in harmony in a game of Homerun Battle 3D. App Store inspectors take note: can’t we all just get along?

Google and iPhone have becoming increasingly competitive in the mobile space of late, with Apple blocking a Google Voice app and the search giant trying its hand at flogging the hardware with the Android powered Google Nexus One. But this video shows a game of iPhone title Homerun Battle 3D being played wirelessly on a Motorola Droid and an iPhone against each other, a remarkable first.

We’d be very surprised if Apple let this through onto the App Store anytime soon, but take a look at the video in action, and take heart that there should be little stopping something similar landing on the newly open source Symbian to play with their Google brethren.
