The Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG100 camcorder has just been unveiled, and unlike the stick thin VPC-CS1, it’s got a UK price and date on it already. Come meet it and the other newbies in the range right here.
The Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG100 takes Sanyo’s trademark pistol shape and packs in better imaging tech than ever before, for doing double duty as a camcorder and still camera. It shoots 1080i HD video, as well as 14 megapixel photos via a CMOS sensor, and packs a 5x optical zoom.
The Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG100 is also firmly future proofed, with SDXC card support for the next gen format, as well as Eye-Fi compatibility for wireless photo transfer, and mini HDMI to plug and playback on your flatscreen TV.
Sanyo Dual Camera Xacti VPC-CS1: hands-on photos!
You’ll be able to pick up a Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG100 for £229, but for £179, you can drop a few specs and bag a Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG20 instead, which rocks the same shape and zoom, and shoots 1080i video, but only 10 megapixel stills.
Finally, joining the Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG100 is the more traditionally shaped Xacti VPC-GH1, with identical specs and price, but a wider form that won’t slot straight in your pocket.
You’ll be able to pick up the trio from March, but take a look at the Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG100 and the gang up close in our gallery first right here.
