Final Fantasy 8 has just hit the PlayStation Store, letting you reload the classic 1999 RPG all over again and play it on your PS3 or PSP.
Square-Enix seems to be working its way through its back catalogue at both ends, giving the iPhone the older games while reserving the higher profile Final Fantasy titles for itself. Final Fantasy 8 has now slashed its way onto the PlayStation Network, so if you’re feeling nostalgic – or heaven forbid you missed it the first time round – you can play through the game all over again, which sees swashbuckling Squall Lionheart going up against an evil, time bending sorceress, with some stunning cut scenes thrown into the mix.
Final Fantasy headed to iPhone
As the second 3D game in the series, Final Fantasy 8 always lived in the shadow of its predecessor somewhat (Numero 7 got the PSN treatment first), but still remains an absorbing, twisting and lengthy game we’d happily play through all over again on the bus.
Final Fantasy 8 is live to download now, priced at £9.99. Now, which is next, Final Fantasy 6 or 9?
