Sony Ericsson’s Aspen smartphone is the first Windows 6.5.3 handset to emerge ahead of the handset avalanche due at Mobile World Congress later this month. But what does Windows Mobile 6.5.3 bring to the business-focused Sony Ericsson Aspen?
The Sony Ericsson Aspen packs in plenty of features besides Windows Mobile 6.5.3 including a 2.4in QVGA touchscreen, a QWERTY keyboard, 3.2MP camera, A-GPS with Google Maps and a 3.5mm headphone jack,
The Windows Mobile 6.5.3 smartie is clearly pitched to business folk and also includes WiFi and microSD support up to 16GB. Sony Ericsson also make a lot of the Aspen’s eco-friendly credentials as part of its Greenheart range with a power-saving mode, eco-charger and recyclable packaging.
Windows Mobile 6.5.3 itself brings many more touch-savvy features to the OS to create a more finger-friendly layout. We’ve eyeballed Windows Mobile 6.5.3 before but we’ll be able to get our hands on the Sony Ericsson Aspen at Mobile World Congress later this month.
The Sony Ericsson Aspen is due in Q2 2010. If you’re not excited by Windows Mobile, watch out for the Google-Android-sporting Sony Ericsson X10 too, expected sometime this Spring.
