Olympus SP-800UZ super zoom camera spotted!

The Olympus SP-800UZ ultra zoom compact has just been unveiled ahead of the PMA tradeshow in Las Vegas this month. It’s not the mystery Micro Four Thirds shooter the company’s been teasing, but trust us when we say you’ll forget all about that when you check the specs on this snapper cum telescope. Read on for the pics and juicy details.

The 14 megapixel Olympus SP-800UZ sports an absolutely staggering 30x optical zoom, 720p HD video recording for sharp footage of celebs falling over, 2GB of internal memory and an SD card slot to stash them on, as well as HDMI out and a 3-inch LCD panel on the back.

The Olympus SP-800UZ also packs face detection, dual image stabilisation for non shonky shots, and even USB charging if you just can’t get to the mains when the battery dries out.

If the Olympus SP-800UZ’s specs are just a bit too intense for you, you could try its newly unveiled little brother, the SP-600UZ, which packs a mere 15x optical zoom, 12 megapixel image sensor and 2.7-inch LCD screen around back.

Both the Olympus SP-800UZ and SP600UZ are out in March, priced up at £369.99 and £259.99 respectively.
