We’re still waiting patiently for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Android superphone to arrive, and while there’s no official date still, the last info we saw pointed to a February release. Could that have been pushed back though? The latest shopping site details suggest so.

Last month, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 popped up for pre-order on Play.com, with a due date of 19 February, just after Mobile World Congress closes up in Barcelona. But now shopping site Expansys, which was bang on with the launch date of the Motorola Milestone, has it pegged for a 22 April shipping date – almost six whole months after the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 was first announced.

We’ve already had some face time with the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and come away fairly impressed with the company’s slick new UI, but in the time since the first announcement, we’ve seen more new touchscreen phones from the company surface too. Play.com is still listing the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 for 19 February however, so fingers crossed the mobile maker can meet that date.

      Hi Susan – Sony Ericsson still doesn’t have an official launch date so we’d love to know how you heard this. Can you point us in the direction you heard this?

        Its maybe not true then…i just phoned a number on their website and asked as this is the phone im looking for when i renew my contract and was told that date…maybe thats just what their saying though or been told to say if people ask

    6 month is optimistic and probably won’t happen then too. They completley let us down with the X2.

    Sony Ericsson: You wonder why you lost a huge $1 billion in 2009?
    Because YOU are always too little too late, by the time your phones do come out, they are riddled with buggy software. I’ve always been a big fan of you SE. But you never get your act together, Just look at Time/Mediascape on Android 1.6, It’s REALLY SLOW! You shouldn’t have re-designed the whole OS, just added to the already brilliant stock Android 2.1!

    I wish I was in charge of your company, I guarantee I would make you $1 billion profit over 2010!

    I’m never going to buy a SE phone again. You’ve let me down too many times.

    22 April thats too far away. I went into a few shops last week and they said its comming out in the 1st week of April. If thats the case im just gona get the Nokia N900 or the Nexus 1 instead.

      NOKIA!! compared to SE Nokia are utter donkeys – hopeless interface, lousy software, slow slow slow fones designed by geeks who hate people. Proof? Set up email on an iPhone then try and do it on a Nokia – a truly grim experience

    I think the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is a really great phone, even with Android 1.6, but I am really looking forward to Android 2.1 and Multitouch, as the X10 will be awesome then.
