Sega’s next Sonic the Hedgehog game has been labouring under the codename Project Needlemouse up until now but it seems some internet investigators have tracked down a clue to its real identity…

Sonic fans have found that Sonicthehegehog4.com was recently reserved. Now that could simply be someone trying their luck but the person behind the domain makes it seem like an official move by Sega.

Sonicthehedgehog4.com is reserved by Brandom Klein. Sonic obsessives scouring the net couldn’t find any information on Klein but did discovered that one of his email addresses is linked to another guy called Brandon.

Brandon number 2 is a man called Brandon Laurino, Sega’s community and online director. It looks like he registered Sonicthehedgehog4.com in preparation for promoting Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

Sega has promised that Project Needlemouse will officially be unveiled next week so we won’t have long to wait. Keeping an eye on Sonicthehedgehog4.com might not be a bad idea.
