The Samsung Galaxy 2 has just leaked out online in render form, and it’s shaping up to oust the Google Nexus One as the top Android dog. Anyone want to bet we’ll be seeing this at Mobile World Congress next month?
Androphones has the scoop on the Samsung Galaxy 2, and it’s shaping up a treat. Like HTC’s Google Nexus One, it should pack a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 3.7-inch AMOLED screen, five megapixel camera and run Android 2.1, but there’s 32GB of internal storage this time. That’s something Android phones have been light on until now, relying instead on a bring your own microSD card policy, and a welcome hardware addition in the Samsung Galaxy 2.
Samsung Galaxy Portal: Spica reaches UK shores
We’re big fans of the Samsung Galaxy 2′s design for the most part: there’s no wobbly trackball marring the front, and the curves look great, although it’s disappointing to see Samsung making the schoolboy error of putting the audio jack on the side of the handset.
Androphones says the Samsung Galaxy 2 will ship in Q2 (That’s April – June if you’ve not got a calendar to hand), but has joined the dots with the sensible assumption that it may make an appearance at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in a fortnight. We’ll be live from the show, so we’ll be sure to catch it if it does.
