The Apple iPad is finally official, and we’ve got all the specs right here. Read on to find out what the Apple iPad shoves inside its slim case.
The Apple iPad may not have an OLED display, but its 9.7-inch, 1024×768 screen is still multitouch and capacitive, and it’s got the other bobbins you’d hope for including a-GPS, digital compass, 3.5mm audio, accelerometer, Bluetooth and 802.11n Wi-Fi, and it’ll sync over USB just like an iPhone or iPod touch. And it’s just half an inch thick.
Contrary to rumours, there’s no video camera on the Apple iPad, while battery life is around 10 hours in use, and over a month on standby. Apple’s put its own custom 1GHz chip inside, and there’s 16, 32GB or 64GB of flash storage. There’s also support for Open GLS graphics, and already existing games have will run without any updates required, in a window or fullscreen, and even 720p H.264 encoded video.
Steve Jobs revealed that the Apple iPad will come with Wi-Fi alone, or with 3G, announcing US pricing of a quite stingy $14.99 for 250MB on AT&T, or unlimited for $29.99 per month. We’ll let you know UK details on the Apple iPad, but Jobs said Apple expected to have international carrier deals hammered out by June/July.
