Apple iBooks is the company’s long rumoured ebook virtual shop for the Apple iPad, and it’s official at last, with big partners signed on and a tasty UI.
The Apple iPad is being styled as an e-reader as expected, with Steve Jobs launching a dedicated app for it, iBooks. Partners including Penguin, HarperCollins, Macmillan and Simon & Schuster on board for Apple iBooks.
The Apple iBooks menu screen is styled as a book shelf, with titles facing the screen, and one book by Ted Kennedy, priced at $14.99.
It’s not clear what file format Apple iBooks uses at this point, but fonts are adjustable, and the background is off white so should be fairly easy on the eye.
