Steve Jobs tipped a wink about the arrival of the Apple Tablet at Apple’s event on Wednesday during the company’s Q1 2010 earnings call yesterday. And Apple COO Tim Cook threw more fuel on the fire…
Most people seem certain that Apple will launch the Apple Tablet/iPad/iSlate on Wednesday and Steve Jobs did nothing to dissuade that. During the earnings call he trumpeted Apple’s new status as a “$50bn company” before saying: “The new products we are planning for release are very strong, starting this week with a major new product…”
Apple’s COO Tim Cook added to the raging rumour mill when he was pushed for details on the Apple Tablet, quipping: “I wouldn’t want to take away your joy and surprise on Wednesday when you see our latest creation.”
Apple presented seriously impressive sales number on Monday with iPhone sales up 100% year-on-year to 8.7m and a 33% increase in sales of Macs. iPod sales came in at 21m which is down 8% on last year, cannibalised by the public’s growing love for iPhone.
