Nokia X6 16GB priced and dated

The Nokia X6 16GB has just been kicked into officialdom by Nokia, sporting less storage than the original, but new colours and a lower price tag. No, it’s not the Cseries blower we were hoping for, but pulling out some storage space will save you quite a packet – read on to see what we mean.

For the most part, nothing has changed in the Nokia X6 16GB: there’s still a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, GPS, Wi-Fi, HSDPA and Symbian S60, and it’ll run the new, free Ovi Maps with turn by turn navigation. The difference is that there’s no Comes With Music subscription, and storage space has been lowered, down from 32GB to 16GB in this new Nokia X6.

That’s still plenty to keep you going, mind, (around 5,500 songs), but the saving it makes is surprising: the Nokia X6 16GB costs just £299 SIM-free, compared to £449 for a model with double the storage, and a saving of a third. It also means the Nokia X6 16GB will arrive on contracts from just £25 per month.

Unfortunately, Nokia is still operating under the assumption that if you’ve got a lower disposable income, it follows that you have a shorter attention span too, so you’ll be able to pick up the Nokia X6 16GB in new colours: all black, all white, pink and yellow, if brighter shades are what you dig.

Still, if the cost was holding you back, you can pre-order a Nokia X6 16GB from 9am tomorrow on Nokia’s online store, or wait for it to ship with network bundles from 24 February.
