As T-Day looms on the horizon Apple Tablet rumours continue to flood our inbox, but while most can be dismissed with the simplest of fact checks, this one made us look twice. No, we don’t believe it’s a bonafide leak, but it’s the most convincing Apple Tablet mockup we’ve seen in a while.
Flung online by Dustin Curtis, a designer and user interface specialist, the device is shown on top of a MacBook Pro. Curtis claims these are “photos of the Apple Tablet” and while it certainly looks the right size and shape, there are a few giveaways that this isn’t quite the real deal.
The second image of the purported iTablet shows a drop shadow underneath its edges that’s far from in keeping with the rest of the scene’s lighting. What’s more, the would-be iSlate has incorrect reflections on its screen.
Still, it’s a good attempt and whets our appetite nicely for tomorrow’s Apple announcement. Will the iTablet look anything like this? We hope so. As long as it’s not really called the iSlate, iPad or iCanvas, we’ll be happy.
