The web is alive with last-minute Apple Tablet rumours, but we’ve been handed two fresh nuggets of intelligence, including information that the fabled device will be delivered to retailers in the UK as early as tomorrow evening.

We’ve been in touch with two new tipsters from separate major UK retailers. One told us there are already three listings for the “iTablet” on their stockroom systems, while a second source from a different retailer tells us they’re expecting a delivery tomorrow night.

The claims have left us with more questions than answers, however. Not least because these are both new sources and lack a proven track record in Apple predictions.

What’s more, if rumours are true and the iTablet packs 3G connectivity it’ll need to pass through regulator hands before launch (as happened with the iPhone 3G S) or force Apple to delay its sale while regulatory hoops are negotiated after the initial announcement (as happened with the original iPhone).

As yet, no regulatory documents have surfaced to out the iTablet ahead of Apple’s announcement tomorrow, which suggests the Mac-maker will delay availability until after the regulators have approved it. Either that, or there’s no 3G inside.

The iTablet is expected to debut on Wednesday, shortly after 6pm in the UK. Apple head honcho Steve Jobs has already promised the launch will be of a “major new product,” and it’s a schedule which puts tomorrow’s delivery booking right on track for immediate availabilty.

Could our tipsters be right? If so it’ll mean the iTablet is up for purchase as soon as Thursday morning. If not, our informants will be unwrapping yet another consignment of iPod nanos instead. We’ll keep you posted.
