Final Fantasy I and II are headed to the iPhone, Square Enix has revealed, with extra dungeons and spruced up touchscreen controls. Say goodbye to your social life!
We love a good retro game revival on the iPhone, and now we’ve got some more classics to look forward to: RPGs Final Fantasy I and II are about to make their way on to the App Store, complete with extra levels and bonus content unlocked upon completion.

If you’ve not played any of the games in the huge Final Fantasy franchise, you can expect the same massive gameplay time and epic storylines, condensed onto your iPhone or iPod touchscreen, with 1980s bleeps and bloops lovingly recreated. Chances are you’ll know by now whether you love or hate those turn based battles, but if you’ve already completed The Secret Of Monkey Island and are looking for another long adventure to idle away those train journeys, Final Fantasy I and II are it.
We’ll let you know as soon as the pair go live on the iPhone App Store (Square Enix says they’ll be “available soon”), and Square, if you’re reading, can we have Final Fantasy VII as well please?
