I've got this running on a 5230 wouldn't update the older mapping software via PC but worked fine over gprs...its great however my local cinema is listed in 3 different places around town which is strange however it generally works really well and ever finds the shortcuts around town only the locals usually would know about.
I downloads the maps as your on the go but great thing is it stores them on your memory card so you don't repeatedly download the same information.

Works fine out of 3g areas not a problem at all Edge is more than enough as the maps are pretty small downloads...

All I have on Nokia to compare it to is Sygic but that COSTS and there pretty similar (although Sygic doesn't require any data connection to work) how ever I've normally found the maps already buffered up by the time you hit a low/no signal area.

On top of Nokia's instant email system I don't think Il ever get anything but Nokia now, a nice surprise, now lets either scrap Symbian or at least get some more decent apps for it Nokia!

Sorry to hear that John - in fairness I suspect half of it is simply power management, and the ability to render the new style graphics. Nokia has also been quite clear saying it's free at the point of use, and that the cost is incorporated into the upfront price from now on.

Nokia are not doing themselves any favours, giving this away to users of just ten of there handsets. Ok they may not be ready to start giving everybody this version of maps but to still be charging the other users, even those that are supposedly due to be included in the future is not making Nokia users very happy.
Also claiming everything is free on there website, and only finding out its not after upgrading and finding its version 3.01 thats been installed (which is still chargeable to use) and not the 3.03 version. Why cant they just stop asking for payment for the other versions, after all its Nokia who are making the 'free forever' claims....when its not!
