Viewsonic MoviebookThe Viewsonic Moviebook may not have the incredible UI and apps of an iPod touch, or the digital noise cancellation of a new Sony Walkman, but it does pack one incredible feature: full 1080p video output on your flatscreen. Did we mention it’s coming to the UK?

The Viewsonic Moviebook VPD550T might make you think twice about importing that Zune HD: it’s got a 5-inch touchscreen, 8GB of internal memory and a microSD slot for 16GB more, and a HDMI out port to play full HD video on your TV.

Not only that, but the wide file format support on the Viewsonic Moviebook (MPEG, VOB, MOV, AVI, DVD images) also includes MKV, an increasingly popular format for online HD video, and one the iPod touch can’t handle.

And the best bit? We’ll be able to get a hold of the Viewsonic Moviebook in the UK soon: it’s shipping in the second quarter of 2010, with a full debut expected at The Gadget Show Live in Birmingham in April. Bring it on.
