LittleBigPlanet is going 3D as one of a batch of games that Sony has shown in stereoscopic PS3 3D versions. Read on for more on a stereoscopic Sackboy and a grab back of other games destined for 3D reinventions…
Sony has shown two playable samples of its new PS3 3D system – Super Stardust HD and a 3D-version of Motorstorm: Pacific Rift – but LittleBigPlanet was revealed as a 3D demo.
The original LittleBigPlanet frustrated some gamers with its three planes of depth making it easy to get confused and send Sackboy tumbling to his doom. Stereoscopic 3D apparently fixes that problem, giving the DIY platformer a new sense of depth.
The 3D demo of LittleBigPlanet also features a nice opening sequence with Sackboy switching from 2D to 3D as he pops on his own little pair of 3D glasses.
As well as LittleBigPlanet, Sony showed a 3D demo of Gran Turismo 5. It won’t reveal which games will be released with its forthcoming range of 3DTVs but the TVs and games along with PS3 system updates are due this summer.
