YouTubeYouTube will stream live cricket matches from the Indian Premier League, following up on its recent moves into sports broadcasting and threatening the bottom line of TV stations the world over.

New Media Age reports that YouTube has struck a deal with the Indian Premier League (IPL) to live stream 60 matches on the internet, starting in March, and is currently in talks to drum up sponsorship for the coverage.

YouTube recently announced plan for its own Sports Hub, with official video from sporting organisations across the world, but livestreaming some of the most popular cricket matches outside of the Ashes could pull in an even larger audience and even create a new business model for YouTube.
