The Samsung ST5500 was one of the most tooled up compacts on show at CES, but we’ve just spotted one here in good ol’ Blighty for a quick play. See the ultimate connected camera up close in our gallery!
The spec list for the 14.2 megapixel Samsung ST5500 reads more like a smartphone than a digital camera. Bluetooth and DLNA certified Wi-Fi are onboard so you can send a photo to an email address straight from the device with the large, 3.7-inch WVGA OLED screen, and you can auto upload to Facebook and Picasa, and 720p video to YouTube too.
Samsung WB650 OLED camera: hands-on photos!
In truth, we’re not fans of the Samsung ST5500′s build. It’s a weirdly wide, uncomfortable shape with sharp edges at the back and asymmetrical curves at the front. Pack all this tech into a bulkier, shorter point and shoot though, Powershot G11 sized say, and we’d be all over it.
The Samsung ST5500 ships in April for £349.99, but get a good look at it here first in our hands-on gallery.
