Samsung Genio Slide: budget phone with BBC iPlayer

The Samsung Genio Slide is the South Korean giant’s latest budget feature phone for tweens with Facebook fever. But this is one cheapo phone we can’t wait to get our hands on: it’s got BBC iPlayer access shoved inside its QWERTY shell.

At a glance, the Samsung Genio Slide is a fairly ordinary messaging dumbphone, with a landscape QWERTY keyboard for pounding out text messages and Facebook updates about your lunch. It’s got a run of the mill 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen, a three megapixel camera, a microSD slot and 3.5mm audio hole for your own headphones.

But the Samsung Genio Slide is one well connected phone, with HSDPA, Wi-Fi and GPS all onboard too, and access to BBC iPlayer so you can catch up on whatever David Tennant is on next on the bus.

The Samsung Genio Slide is out now on Vodafone, free on £20 per month two year contract with 75 minutes and 250 texts, and you can take a peep at all the official photos right here in our gallery now.

I've just bought this and I love it. Easy to use, the camera is good, touch screen works nicely and, unlike the iPhone (:D) it can multitask and supports flash (I think…)
