The Motorola Backflip was one of the more unusual phones unveiled at CES last week. It might not be completely buttonless, but its QWERTY keyboard on the back of the phone that flips out still makes it stand out. And stand out here it will: we’ve confirmed that it’s headed to Europe.
The Motorola Backflip isn’t so different to the Motoblur infused DEXT: it runs Android on a 3.1-inch screen. But the twist is the QWERTY keyboard folds out from the back rather than sliding out underneath.
The Motorola Backflip is headed to AT&T in the US shortly, but we’ve just got off the line with a Motorola spokesperson, who confirmed plans for Europe too.
“Given the exceptional response to DEXT and Milestone to date, we look forward to adding Backflip to our smartphone range in EMEA…We will be making further announcements on availability and pricing of Backflip in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia beginning in Q1 2010,” we were told.
